This research attempts to describe the Management of Taman Satwa Taru Jurug as a tourism object for educational recreation and animal conservation of Surakarta, Central Java. This research conducted by author uses qualitative research methods, a research methods that utilized to examine the role of various factors in a tourism area management, with the determination of data sources taken through observation, documentation, questionnaire, and interview to be presented by qualitative descriptive method. Taman Taman Satwa Taru Jurug is a zoo tourism object as well as an animal conservation agency in the form of a regional company which under the supervision of the Surakarta City Government and fostered by the Ministry of Forestry and Environment. Some of the shortcomings of Taman Satwa Taru Jurug management are the arrangement of merchant kiosks, lack of tourist attractions innovations, infrastructure problems, and the less-rapid process of area developments caused by the main funding source only rely upon tickets sales income.
