Abstract A woman that suffered burns previously presented with leg swelling and was diagnosed with venous thromboembolism. Heparin was given until she suddenly developed myocardial infarction. Ventricular septal rupture was detected and managed by transcatheter closure. She developed massive bleeding and extensive thrombosis that made treatment paradoxical and eventually died.
