The paper considers the problem of interaction of non-governmental human rights organizations with political institutions of the Russian Federation, represented by the state authorities, the Ombudsman Institute, the bodies of Internal Affairs, the European Court for Human Rights, and the mass media. The author analyzes the role of non-governmental human rights organizations as the main channel of communication between the authorities and civil society in Russia.
