Deskripsi
Esophageal foreign bodies can be swallowed accidentally by children and on purpose by adults with psychiatric disorders. Elderly people and people under the effect of alcohol are more susceptible to swallow insufficiently chewed food that end being stuck in the esophagus. Children with postcaustic esophageal strictures are highly prone to presenting with esophafeal foreign bodies. One of the main reasons is due to an inadequate food regimen or incorrect mastication. The authors present a series of 21 cases with esophageal foreign bodies on postcaustic esophageal strictures treated between 2012 and 2013.
