Article Highlights Major warmings (MWs) of the past decade occurred mostly in January and then in February. A decreasing trend in the occurrence of MWs in the past decade, 0.36 MWs/winter. The warming occurrences in the stratosphere make lower ozone depletion. A positive correlation exists between lower stratospheric temperature and total ozone.
