Deskripsi

BackgroundWhen the reactor residual heat is removed under loss of coolant accident (LOCA), the negative solubility salt impurities enter the coolant, and the surface of the plate-type components is scaled, which seriously affects the heat transfer performance of the channel and even leads to channel blockage.PurposeThis study aims to understand the fouling characteristics on the heating surface of the narrow rectangular channel.MethodsAn experimental set-up was designed and built to collect fouling samples at the specific locations of the heating surface. Using calcium carbonate as a soluble impurity, the fouling process of the heating surface of a narrow rectangular channel with a cross-section of 60 mm×2 mm was experimentally examined. The microscopic morphology characteristics of the fouling at different locations of the channel and at different times were observed. The distribution characteristics of fouling thickness were measured, and the effect of fouling on wall heat transfer was investigated. Results & ConclusionsThe fouling morphology changes with time, and the fouling thickness at different locations is significantly different. The heat transfer coefficient of the channel first decreases and then tends to be stable with a decrease of 26.49%.
