Deskripsi
Traumatic transverse sinus thrombosis is rarely reported in the literature. We present a 45 years old lady who presented with history of fall resulting in Occipital fracture and deteriorating sensorium. Plain CT scan showed depressed, comminuted occipital bone fracture with hydrocephalus and a space occupying lesion in posterior fossa. Magnetic resonance venogram (MRV) revealed thrombus in the left Transverse Sinus (TS). She underwent right ventriculo-peritoneal shunt (VP Shunt) and post-operatively started with low molecular weight heparin (LMWH), which dissolved the thrombus in 5 days. There are very few case reports in literature on traumatic TS thrombosis presenting as a cerebellar mass, resolving so quickly and resulting in obstructive hydrocephalus requiring shunt.
