A new species of Idiasta Foerster is described and illustrated from India in this paper. Its distinguishing characters from other closely related species are also discussed. These are : vertex smooth , mandible tridentate , F2 twice longer than F1 , metanotum smooth , propodeum anteriorly polished with mid longitudinal carina and major portion reticulate.
