Immunosenescence is the term to describe the changesassociated with the progressive decrease in immune functionsuch as increasing in the susceptibility to infectious diseases,autoimmunity and cancer of individuals after 60 years of age.This decrease in immune function is associated with changes thatcan occur in each step of the triggering of an immune response.The process leading to this decay is multifactorial and complexinvolving diverse changes and reorganization in the regulatorypathways of the immune system, as well as changes in theeffectors functions rather than simply a unidirectional decline inoverall functions.
