Road traffic accidents are now identified as a worldwide public health issue. Vientiane, capital city of Lao PDR, is facing a sudden and unprecedented increase of traffic that has negative consequences on the health of the general population. This paper will discuss the current situation in Vientiane by using a geography of health approach that will examine traffic accidents as both a geographical object and health issue.
