Study on Driving Performance of Intelligent Winglet Based on MFC Piezoelectric Fiber Composite

By controlling deformable intelligent missile winglets, miniature missiles with smart winglets can change the flight state to meet the operational requirements. For this kind of deformable smart winglet structure, this paper takes the macro fiber composite (MFC) as the actuator to drive composite cantilever beams, and verifies the driving performance of MFC by the combination of simulation and experiment. Subsequently, the driving mechanism of composite winglet with MFC is designed and tested, which can verify the feasibility of the design scheme. On this basis, the influence of smart winglet composite skin ply design on driving capability is investigated in detail. The results show that driving capability of MFC can be improved by increasing 45° ply ratio and decreasing 0° ply ratio, or placing 45° ply on the surfaces and 0° ply in the middle plane of skin.
