This article describes the immigration of Azorians and Madeirans to meridional Brazil between 1748 and 1756 and it studies the reasons of such immigration, their social and political basis, its organization in the Portuguese court, as well as in Brazil, its location in Brazilian land and the results of this migratory movement.
