It is common observation that in family courts, more often than not, the cases about inheritance involvedisputes related towills and gifts. It is, therefore, necessary for lawyers and judges to have a thoroughunderstanding of the interplay of the principles of inheritance, wills and gifts. This paper aims to explain some of these fundamental principles and the way they interact with each other.
