One of manifestations of the anthropocentric approach to the study of the language was considering it as a fact of culture. The paper presents a study of changes in the inner lexicon of Russian ethnic and lingual culture representatives in conditions of heterogeneous language environment, which have been found out as a result of free associative experiment. The linguistic markers of national and cultural consciousness, pointed out by I. V. Privalova, were chosen as stimuli offered to the informants during the experiment.
