Published in 1950, the magazine O cavalo de todas as cores was edited by João Cabral de Melo Neto and Alberto de Serpa. As Cabral lived in Spain and Serpa in Portugal, the magazine was organized through letters, which constitute a critical collection of interest. I present and transcribe the first letter that composes the correspondence from Cabral to Serpa and in which the Brazilian poet exposes his editorial project to the Portuguese confrere and invites him to participate.
