Deskripsi
Astafyev, Solzhenitsyn – righteous people in literature Nellie Shchedrina’s paper deals with Astafyev’s diary I Have No Respond... (1952- -2001) and Solzhenitsyn’ comments on him at the end of 1990’s. Proximity of the both is considered on their being nationally oriented. They displayed the zeal of Russia, professed Orthodox traditions, and freedom of creative work. They maintained friendly relations. Astafyev spoke indignantly when Solzhenitsyn was evicted from the Soviet Union, and craved for his rehabilitation. Solzhenitsyn addressed Astafyev as “veracious partisan of truth”, andcalled his most contradictory novel The Accursed and the Slain a “uniquebook” written by a “devoted labourer of war”. On his return from expatriation, he visited Astafyev in the village of Ovsynka, and according to the latter they conversed “as equals” for three hours. These men of letters were just and righteous.
