This paper compares the economic structure of Iran and a number of industrial members of the World Trade Organisation (WTO). To do so, the effects of international trade contribution indices on the linkages within economic sectors of countries are investigated. The input-output and econometrics methods are employed as the models. The data on Iran is obtained from the 2001 input-output table provided by Statistics Centre of Iran, and the data on the WTO members are obtained from data provided by the European System Account (ESA). Based on the results of the study, the economic sectors of WTO industrial countries have more linkage together in comparison with Iran. On the other hand, the membership in WTO has no significant effect on the relationship between the economic sectors.
