Applications of nontoxic sorptive dusts during construction of houses or other buildings appear to offer a high degree of protection from infestations of cockroaches and other household pests, according to tests during the past six years in two large housing developments, as well as in the laboratory at University of California, Los Angeles. Excellent results were obtained with applications of a silica aerogel (Dri-Die
