<p><em>Dengue Haemorhagic Fever (DHF) is a main health problem in Palu municipality. One of the DHF endemic area was Tondo village. The transmission of DHF was determine by the present of Aedes aegypti larvae. The aim of this study was to identify the relationship between type and material of container and the present of Aedes aegypti larvae. This studywas conducted inTondo village by surveing 100 houses. This was an observational study with a cross-sectional design. Larva surveywas conducted with a single larvae method. Data were analysed with chi-square. The results showed that DHF transmission in Tondo village was still high as indicated in House Index (43%). Mostly plastic and cement water container used daily were found positive <span style="text-decoration: underline;">Aedes aegypti</span>. There was a correlation between the container (chamber and jar) with the larvae persistence. The container that made from cement, ceramics and metal have a correlation with the larvae persistance. Therefore, community participation in DHF control programis needed inTondo village.</em><em></em></p>
