The subject has not often been studied in the available literature but the emergence of « health through sports » among sports federations leads to re-configurations in the French sports movement. Sports clubs develop new physical activities and gradually become local public health operators. With the help of 26 semi-structured interviews and 24 months participant observation, we will analyze the case of a regional basketball league setting up « Health Basketball ». Considering the orders, the acceptance and the local resistance to the normative injunctions of this federal program which meets a very variable response depending on the protagonists, we will examine the way health norms and sports norms come into tension and modify the existing model.
