This paper analyzes the internationalization of university research by means of a study of the Research Units (UI) at Universidad Nacional de La Plata (UNLP). This phenomenon has increased in recent years and has influenced the dynamics of knowledge production at the cognitive, social, and institutional level from a multidimensional perspective. It also affects the contents, usefulness and/or relevance of the knowledge generated in Latin America (Oregioni, 2014). Consequently, the analysis of this issue in the field of social studies of science and technology is fundamental. Based on this case study, the research allowed identifying the stimuli that have a direct and indirect impact on the internationalization of university research and its struggles.
