Deskripsi
Heinz Geyer was a German conductor and composer who immigrated to the city of Blumenau (Santa Catarina, Brazil) in 1921 where he enjoyed a favorable environment for his work in music. Between the 1930s and 1970s, he conducted the choir and orchestra of the Sociedade Dramático-Musical Carlos Gomes. The repertoire he chose for the Dramatic Society was influenced by the European romantic ideal, a variety of arrangements and some of his own works. The current process of cataloging his music material, along with its editing, will revive opportunities to perform this repertoire. Based on the work developed with the Heinz Geyer Archive, this paper aims to reflect on and manage information in regards to the systematization of musical archives, as well as to contribute to make the State of Santa Catarina part of the musical setting of Brazil.
