<p class="AEEEAbstract">In the Czech Republic are bare conductor lines replaced by cover conductor lines. The cover conductor lines have many advantages. Advantages and disadvantages of PAS system are described in this paper. This article describes issue of fault detection for lines with cover conductors, dependence of partial discharges on fault and finally the design plus realization fault detection of cover conductors. This is a prototype which will be tested and then optimized. The system will be used for different voltage levels and different types of outdoor lines.</p>
