Deskripsi

This article studies the procedures of election in the responsibilities in the community of the ursulines of Pau, an important convent in which the number of the sisters really decreases only in three decades preceding the Revolution. It is always the same families which control the community. But other factors than the family strategies play, as the need of electing capable persons. The greater number of responsibilities, in the XVIIIth century, allows sisters of modest social origin to reach secondary offices.
