Deskripsi
In the present work, graphene oxide was first synthesized from graphite and then modified with thioacetamide. Modified graphene oxide was characterized using SEM and FT-IR techniques. Subsequently, the removal of mercury (II) from aqueous media using modified graphene oxide as adsorbent was studied. The best conditions for mercury (II) removal were: solution pH, adsorbent amount, contact time, and shaker speed, respectively, 3 ، 0.05 g, 10 min and 100 rpm, respectively. Adsorption kinetics of Hg (II) on modified graphene oxide followed the pseudo-second-order kinetic model. The Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms were studied for experimental results and these studies showed that the Langmuir isotherm model is in good agreement with the absorption data. The results showed that modified graphene oxide can be effectively used to remove mercury (II) from aqueous and wastewater samples.
