Background Magnesium has several actions on bronchial airways including relaxation of airway smooth muscle, bronchodilation, anticholinergic effects, and stabilization of mast cells. The present study aimed to measure the level of serum magnesium and assess the relationship of hypomagnesaemia with severity of asthma.
