Deskripsi
The article analyzes the trend of theatre staging of narrative texts (novels) of the Soviet-Russian cultural sphere. Moving from the Slavonic and Western theories about the postmodern, the author considers the trend of “staged novel” as a rejection of the aesthetics of Socialist real-ism. Today the same trend of the “staged novel” belongs to the global narrative turn. The article is divided into four sections: ‘introduction’, ‘the post-modern and beyond’, ‘staged novel: from the thaw to the perestroika’, ‘staged novel: from the nineties to the noughties’.In the introduction the author poses the question of the trend of staging novels in Soviet-Russian theatre. In the second part of the article the author summarizes the most relevant theories about the phenomenon of postmodern in Western and Slavonic cultures. In the third part of the article the author analyzes the artistic experiences of two Russian directors: Georgij Tovstonogov and Jurij Ljubimov. The last section of the article includes a short review of all the theatrical novel-based performances staged in Russia in the last twenty years.
