This short paper takes into account the main components of the explanation of emissions of green house gases: emission coefficient by inhabitant and by GPO monetary unit, and mass effects, demographic and production related. The latter are sometimes curiously under valued, and it has seemed useful to emphasize the part that they play. Following a presentation based on maps and graphs of available data, we present some “prospective experiments” based on these data and on the aims most often mentioned in recent international agreements.
