Inability to image large numbers of growth plate chondrocytes while retaining their spatial context during analysis has hindered the study of bone development. Here, the authors present a pipeline called 3D MAPs and use it to uncover morphogenic behaviorsĀ and growth strategies in normal bones as well asĀ  aberrations in Gdf5 KO bones.
