<p>Indicele geochimic (Igeo) al metalelor grele din sedimentele subacvatice din r. Prut şi din fl. Nistru, precum şi  afluenţii acestora, caracterizează starea sedimentului ca <em>n</em><em>epoluat - moderat poluat, </em>iar<em> </em>a celor<em> </em>din lacurile naturale Beleu şi Manta, artificiale Taraclia, Comrat, Cahul şi din mun. Chişinău nu sunt poluate cu metale grele (clasa 0, Igeo &lt;0). S-a constatat o <em>poluare puternică</em> cu Pb în sedimentul râuleţului din s. Izvoare, r-nul Orhei  (clasa 4, Igeo = 3,1-3,3) şi <em>mo­derat - puternic poluate</em> cu Cd (clasa 2-3, Igeo=2,2) din sedimentul râuleţelor Zonei Umede „Unguri-Holoşniţa”.</p><p><strong>The geochemical index and the degree of underground sediments</strong></p><p><strong> pollution with heavy metals in the Republic of Moldova</strong></p><p>The geochemical index (Igeo) of heavy metals in the Prut and the Nistru Rivers, underground sediments as well as their tributaries, characterize the state of the sediments as <em>unpolluted</em> - <em>moderately polluted</em> are those from the natural lakes Beleu and Manta, the artificial ones from Taraclia, Comrat, Cahul and Chisinau city are not polluted with heavy metals (class 0, Igeo is &lt;0). It was found a <em>strong pollution</em> with Pb in the sediment of the rivers in Izvoare village, Orhei district (class 4, Igeo = 3.1-3.3) and a <em>moderately - strongly pollution</em> with Cd (class 2-3, Igeo = 2.2) in “Unguri-Holosnita” Humid Area small rivers.</p>
