Banach Fixed Point Theorem in Extended <i>b</i><sub>v</sub>(<i>s</i>)-Metric Spaces

We define the class of extended <inline-formula><math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><semantics><mrow><msub><mi>b</mi><mi>v</mi></msub><mrow><mo>(</mo><mi>s</mi><mo>)</mo></mrow></mrow></semantics></math></inline-formula>-metric spaces by replacing the real number <inline-formula><math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><semantics><mrow><mi>s</mi><mo>≥</mo><mn>1</mn></mrow></semantics></math></inline-formula> with a strictly increasing continuous function <inline-formula><math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><semantics><mi>ϕ</mi></semantics></math></inline-formula> in the definition of a <inline-formula><math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><semantics><mrow><msub><mi>b</mi><mi>v</mi></msub><mrow><mo>(</mo><mi>s</mi><mo>)</mo></mrow></mrow></semantics></math></inline-formula>-metric space. Also, we presented an example for this newly introduced space and exhibited that in a particular situation, the class of extended <inline-formula><math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><semantics><mrow><msub><mi>b</mi><mi>v</mi></msub><mrow><mo>(</mo><mi>s</mi><mo>)</mo></mrow></mrow></semantics></math></inline-formula>-metric spaces reduces to the class of <inline-formula><math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><semantics><mrow><msub><mi>b</mi><mi>v</mi></msub><mrow><mo>(</mo><mi>s</mi><mo>)</mo></mrow></mrow></semantics></math></inline-formula>-metric spaces. Afterwards, we establish a fixed point theorem which ensured the existence of a fixed point for the self-map satisfying the Banach contractive condition in the context of this newly defined space. Moreover, we compared the proved result with the existing fixed point theorems in the literature.
