Como parte de una investigación educativa sobre el análisis de la situación de salud, se realizó una revisión histórica de éste, que constituye la esencia del presente artículo. El contenido abarca desde la etapa colonial hasta el presente, en forma resumida y con énfasis en los momentos de mayor desarrollo en la utilización de análisis de la situación de salud, con lo cual se intenta ofrecer información útil para los estudiosos del tema.<br>A historical review on the analysis of the health situation which constitutes the essential element of the present work was performed as a part of an educational investigation. The content of this paper covers the analysis made from the colonial times to the present times in a brief summary and placing emphasis on the moments of greatest development regarding the utilization of health situation analysis in an effort to provide useful information for the ones intesrested in this subject.
