Public spending is an issue which draws concerns of governments as well as econ-omists. The following research analyses effects of public spending on economic growth of Southeast Asian states in the period of 1995-2012. Regression data indicated that in terms of effects total public spending, public spending in healthcare, in security and national defense were in line with economic growth, while public spending in educa-tion and economic growth was out of sync. Additionally, during the analyzing process, the research points out that in terms of effects labor forces, private investmens, foreign direct investment (FDI) was in line with economic growth and inflation, while economic openness moves in an opposite way.
