Here,<b> </b>we present first draft genome sequence of the trypanosomatid <i>Herpetomonas muscarum ingenoplastis</i>. This parasite was isolated repeatedly in the black blowfly, <i>Phormia regina</i>, and it forms a phylogenetically distinct clade in the Trypanosomatidae family.
