Deskripsi
Unsuspected thyroid cancer can be detected in multinodular goiter (MNG) where the risk of malignancy is 7-9%. Fine needle aspiration (FNAc) is performed in case of suspicious findings on ultrasound. With benign FNAC results there is no need for surgery unless the patient has pressure symptoms or cosmetic concerns, but the risk of overlooked malignancy is always present.
