Ausonius was interested in exploring the theme of travel. The Mosella, that he wrote about his journey towards Trier, is a reconstruction of reality. In the Ordo Vrbium Nobilium, Ausonius writes a collection that exists more as a virtual travel than a praise of cities. But under the caracteristics of the city, we can see an exploration of different genres and styles used by Ausonius. The poet brings the lector in an encrypted itinerary that works as the construction of a poetic art.
