In recent years, many researchers are interested in relationships between sustainable economic restructure and polices of foreign exchange rate, especially since the global economic crisis leading macroeconomic instableness in Vietnam. Some people support for policy of devaluating VND against USD to encourage exports. Others do not support for this viewpoint. In a such circumstance, this article discuss on foreign exchange rate polices supported for a sustainable economic restructure. Firstly, the article indicates the achievements and limits as analyzing the relationships between economic restructure and policies of foreign exchange rate in previous years. Based on this analysis, the article points out and explains why the foreign exchange rate should be changed to support for a sustainable economic restructure. Then, the relationships between foreign exchange rate policy and economic restructure policy are analyzed. Lastly, the article suggests some changes in foreign exchange rate policy should be done by the State Bank of Vietnam to support for exports and sustainable economic restructure
