ABSTRACT: To investigate the ligands effect on the catalytic performance of tin-oxo clusters (TOCs), three drum-like Sn6-oxo clusters functionalized by acetate, naphthaleneacetate and 9-anthracenecarboxylate ligands were prepared, respectively. Combined experimental and density function theory (DFT) analysis illustrated that the electrocatalytic CO2 reduction activity of these atomically precise Sn6-oxo clusters could be significantly improved by enhancing the conjugation of functionalized ligands.
