Khoms(one fifth to be paid ) is one of the duties Muslims have no doubt in its obligation and therefore consider its deniers out of Islam. After the holy Prophet 's time, apart from this common basic perception, there has appeared divergences between Shiite and Sunnis in the further understanding of this issue. This article examines the two approaches of Shiite and Sunni commentators on the issue of Khoms and their divergence about the whole issue, the matters about it and how it should be spent.
