NDT personnel face many of the same conventional hazards as workers in other fields. However, NDT personnel may also be exposed to radiation, either from industrial radiography or because they work in a radioactive environment such as a nuclear plant. This talk will discuss the risks posed by radiation by focussing on the views and evidence presented by a leader in the regulatory community who ensures safety by applying conservative radiation protection rules.
