In this paper, the indications for myocardial perfusion scintigraphy, the stress methods, the radiopharmacy and the most used methodology are reviewed. The clinical applications of myocardial perfusion scintigraphy, regarding the diagnosis and prognostic stratification in stable angina are emphasised.
