Hypoxia-based agents need permeable and hypoxic intratumour environment to be effective. Here, theĀ authors show that perfluorocarbon nanoparticles promote increased permeability and sustained hypoxia to improve accumulation of hypoxia-based agents, and inhibit intratumour oxygen reperfusion.
