The paper analyzed research status and existed problems of positioning technology of sensors of supports of shearer, positioning technology based on trackage odometer and autonomous positioning technology. It put forward research content of absolute positioning technology of shear in mining coal seam by taking absolute coordinate of the mining area as reference coordinate. It discussed application of the positioning technology of shearer in automation long-wall fully mechanized coal mining face.
