The term "orthodontia" defining maxillofacial orthopedics was first used by Le Foulon in the year 1939, first half of 19th century. However, numerous physicians had mentioned about mouth and teeth disorders in earlier years, which were highlighted by means of their written works (1). We are aiming to make a short trip through various stages of the history of orthodontics by means of our exposition, and wil try to present the development a history of orthodontics, as per periodic stages.
