Deskripsi
The determination of growth parameters such as leaf area index and shoot dry matter require destructive methods and plant removal. The adjustment of the growth models allows to evaluate the response of crops to the environment and to the interactions with cultural practices, and also to estimate growth variables. The objective of the present work was to evaluate the adjustment of the logistic model for plant height and dry matter (leaf, stem, ear and total) and the exponential model for leaf area index for BR106 maize variety, in three different planting seasons, using accumulated degreedays or days after emergence as independent variables. Three experiments were carried out in 2000, 2001 and 2002, in Rio Largo - AL. Irrigation was used only in the third experiment, in 2002. The analysis of adjustment of exponential and logistic models showed significant conformations, regardless degree-days or days after emergence variables, showing regression coefficient greater than 0.86 and correlation coefficient of Willmontt higher than 0.93, indicating the feasibility of using these models.
