Deskripsi
Cerebral hematoma is one of common brain diseases, and its treatment is mainly determined by estimation of hematoma volume and positions. While unfortunately, widely-used Tada formula is founded base on the assumption that the blood clots are ellipsoid but irregular in practice. This paper proposes a novel measure method for the estimation of cerebral hematoma volumes by CT images. This method can be divided into three steps: remove noises in original images by edge detection and thresholding segmentation; then separate skull and blood clots by region growing method, and finally calculate hematoma volume by gengon and truncated pyramid approximations. A demonstrated case also shows the feasibility and efficiency of the proposed method, which can provide a more accurate basis for clinical treatment of cerebral hematoma.
