<abstract language="eng">In a turle-grass bed (Thalassia testedinum) next to a coral reef (Acropora spp.), 105 species of fish were observed, 42% of them belonged to the community of benthic residents, 45% to suprabenthic nomads and 13% were transients, the importance of Millepora complanata as shelter for the benthic residents is emphasized; it is thought that the distribution of the species observed is based upon trophic differences.
