The present article has as main study objects the short story written by Maria Lcia Medeiros - born in Par, Brazil called Chuvas e Trovoadas and the film with the same title, made by Flvia Alfinito. Both stories have as main focus a girl who seems to not fit in a society with rigid habits. Her attitudes appear to be rebel but they have meanings deeper than they seem to be. This work intends to interpret some of the main characters actions, analyze the meaning of the reading in the society the girls lives in and also intends to study, in a comparative analyses, the short storys passage to the big screen. To do so, it will be used writers such as Remak, Pellegrini and Carrire.
