Deskripsi

Bone metastasis from lung cancer can happen over multiple levels of the body to include both the axial and appendicular skeleton. This case report is that of a 39-year-old female patient with a history of minimal smoking diagnosed with non-small cell lung carcinoma metastasizing to the head and neck of the talus. She initially presented with chronic progressive ankle pain following activity. Initial radiographs appeared relatively normal and conservative therapy was started. Through a series of follow up MRI, CT and PET scans, diagnosis of non-small cell lung carcinoma with metastases to the brain, spine, hip, and foot was made. The metastasis initially showed up as bone marrow edema in the head of the talus and continued to worsen over the course of months. This case report will present symptoms and treatment plans initiated during course of patient care.
