Sustainable development is an underlying concept of today and future civilisation survival and progress. Regarding the fact that transport is a vital field for sustainable development, concept of sustainable transportation is also defined here. Taking that into the account, park-and-ride technology is given and presented as a form of intermodal and multimodal passenger transport implying modal change from private cars to urban mass transit, and also defined as one of the modern ways for mobility and parking management in urban areas. Choosing the abovementioned modal transfer, users can contribute with some impacts considering transportation, economic and ecological strategic effects in their living areas.
